Privacy Policy

Sayla ("the app") is operated by Feisty Agency ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles when you use it and the choices you have. Sayla is designed to work without an account — you never give us your name, email address or password to use the app.

Information we collect

• Voice audio during practice sessions. When you start a live speaking session, your microphone audio is streamed to our AI provider (Google Gemini API) to power the real-time tutor. Audio is processed to generate the tutor's replies and is not used by us to identify you.
• Session transcripts and learning progress. Text transcripts of your practice conversations, the phrases you practice, quest and streak progress, and skill scores are stored on our servers (Cloudflare infrastructure) so the app can remember what you've learned and personalize future sessions.
• Device identifiers. A randomly generated profile ID and standard device identifiers (such as an install ID or vendor ID) are used to associate your progress with your device. These are not linked to your real-world identity.
• Camera (optional). Camera access is only used if you choose to enable video practice. Video is not stored by us.
• Purchase status. Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We receive only your subscription entitlement status — never your payment details. Our paywall is powered by Superwall, which processes purchase events under its own privacy policy.
• Notifications. If you enable notifications, a device push token is stored so we can send practice reminders. You can disable these at any time in iOS Settings.
• Usage analytics (optional). With your permission, the app records usage analytics — see "Usage analytics" below for exactly what is collected and how to turn it off.

Usage analytics

With your permission, Sayla collects usage analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This includes which features and screens you use, the onboarding steps you complete, when you take a screenshot inside the app (we record which screen was on display — never the screenshot image itself), and performance timings such as how long it takes a live session to connect. Analytics events are linked to your randomly generated profile ID, not to your real-world identity.

• Your choice. You decide whether to share usage analytics during onboarding, and you can change your decision at any time with the "Share usage analytics" toggle in the app's Settings. Turning it off stops collection immediately and discards any analytics events still queued on your device.
• Retention. Analytics events are automatically deleted from our servers after 180 days.
• Deletion. Analytics data is deleted together with the rest of your data when you request deletion of your profile.
• Scope. This choice covers usage analytics collected by Sayla itself. Purchase infrastructure (Apple, Superwall) processes purchase events separately, as described under "Third parties we rely on".

How we use information

• To run live tutoring sessions and generate the tutor's responses.
• To remember your progress, phrases and streaks between sessions.
• To personalize lesson suggestions and daily quests.
• To improve session quality and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

Third parties we rely on

• Google Gemini API — real-time speech understanding and tutor replies.
• Cloudflare — hosting, storage of transcripts and progress data.
• Apple — App Store distribution and subscription billing.
• Superwall — subscription paywall presentation.

Data retention and deletion

Progress data and transcripts are retained while you use the app so your tutor can remember your learning history. You can request deletion of all data associated with your profile at any time by emailing will@feistyagency.com. Deleting the app removes local data from your device.

Children

Sayla is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
